To create a sustainable, operating, and flight-ready living museum that stimulates and inspires all ages while entertaining visitors by providing a world-class experience that exceeds expectations.
Our History
The Saskatchewan Aviation Museum was launched in 2007, with renovations commencing in 2017 and the official opening on May 26, 2018. Through donations and vintage aircraft on loan, we have collected aircraft that have shaped Saskatchewan’s and Canada’s history.
2007
Establishment: The Saskatchewan Aviation Museum was established to preserve and promote the aviation history of Saskatchewan
2017
Renovations: Extensive renovations began to prepare the museum for its official public opening
2018
May 26: The museum officially opened to the public, offering 11,000 square feet of hangar space and exhibits
2019
March: Recovery of the Cessna 180 CF-JDO from Peter Pond Lake, which crashed in 1959. The aircraft was retrieved and became a significant exhibit at the museum (Global News).
2020
February 12: Pilots at the museum showcased rides in the Tiger Moth to highlight Saskatchewan’s contribution to World War II (Global News).
2021
June 16: The museum adapted to new fundraising methods due to the COVID-19 pandemic, finding innovative ways to support its operations (Global News)
2022
June 12: Unveiling of the reconstructed historical aircraft exhibit from the 1959 plane crash (Global N-ews)

Meet Our Team
Brian Eikel
Executive Director
Brian Eikel leads the Saskatchewan Aviation Museum with a deep passion for aviation and a rich background in flight operations. Having spent years in the industry, Brian manages the museum’s daily activities, curates exhibits, and organizes events. His dedication to preserving and sharing Saskatchewan’s aviation history ensures that the museum is a vibrant place for aviation enthusiasts and the community alike.
Shelley Jensen
Director
Shelley Jensen is a retired DSC (Data Systems Coordinator) from NAV CANADA and serves as a Director at the Saskatchewan Aviation Museum. With a distinguished career in air traffic control, Shelley brings extensive expertise and leadership to the museum. She plays a key role in organizing educational events, such as the Transport Canada sanctioned Rust Remover clinic, where she shares her knowledge on meteorology and communications in aviation. Her dedication helps enhance the museum’s mission of preserving and promoting aviation history in Saskatchewan.
Kari Eidsness Hodges
Director
Kari Eidsness Hodges is a Director at the Saskatchewan Aviation Museum. With a strong background in community service and aviation, she oversees various programs and initiatives that engage the community and enhance the museum’s educational offerings. Kari’s extensive experience includes active involvement with the Saskatchewan Air Cadet League, where she supports youth development through the Air Cadet program, fostering leadership and citizenship among cadets.
Mark Lich
Board Chair
Mark Lich was recently appointed as the Board Chair of the Saskatchewan Aviation Museum. Although new to the role, Mark has quickly adapted and is already contributing to the museum’s mission of preserving and sharing Saskatchewan’s aviation history. His leadership and commitment are helping to ensure the museum continues to be a vital cultural and educational resource for the community
Jason Gillespie
Director
Jason Gillespie, an Operations Manager at City Electric Supply Corporation CA, serves as a director at the Saskatchewan Aviation Museum. With a background in rail operations and management, Jason brings diverse skills to the board. He is dedicated to the museum’s mission, actively volunteering and assisting with maintenance tasks. His hands-on involvement ensures the museum operates smoothly and continues to be a valuable educational resource for the community. Jason’s commitment and practical experience make him an invaluable member of the museum team.
Tyrel WIlgosh
Director
Tyrel Wilgosh is a director at the Saskatchewan Aviation Museum. He brings expertise in digital marketing and website design through his company, ChowCut Media. Tyrel is also a student at Toronto Film School, where he is expanding his skills in film production. His innovative approach and commitment to the community help promote the museum and engage visitors
