Whether you’re a budding pilot or a curious aviation enthusiast, this event promises a day full of excitement, exploration, and fantastic photo opportunities.

  • Get up close to history with our collection of flight-ready WWII era aircraft from the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan on Open Cockpit Days. Explore the museum’s static displays, aircraft, and restorations.
  • A rare chance to climb into the pilot’s seat in one of our featured historic aircraft of the month!
    • A 1942 RCAF DHC 82 DeHavilland Tiger Moth. Imagine the skies as a WWII-era pilot.
    • A perfectly restored World War II RCAF 1943 Fairchild Cornell. This flight-ready trainer is a piece of living history!
    • The vintage 1952 RCAF Harvard MK IV. A military trainer of the war era. Step back in time of WWII flight training!
    • Climb into a 1960 DeHavilland CS-2F Tracker. These aircraft served in WWII RCAF as a maritime submarine hunter operating from Canada’s only aircraft carrier “the Bonaventure” at the time.
  • Tour our Restoration Hangar. View our 1941 Norseman Mk IV and 1941 652A Avro Anson Mk I
  • Walk inside our 1941 Douglas DC3 outdoor exhibit under restoration.
  • Sit inside an iconic Bell 206B Helicopter and feel like a true rotorcraft pilot.
  • Test your skills on 1 of 3 Computer Flight Simulators and see if you have what it takes to fly!
