At the Saskatchewan Aviation Museum, we are immensely thankful for the generous support of our donors. Thank You To Our Tiger Moth Pilots

Blaine Beaven

Meet Our Tiger Moth Captains! This is Blaine Beavan, our Tiger Moth Training Captain at the Saskatchewan Aviation Museum. He comes from a family with historical significance in Saskatchewan.

He grew up around airplanes and joined the Air Cadet program growing up. Through Air Cadets he gained his Glider and Private pilot licenses before going for his commercial license at 18.

Ed Soye

Meet our Tiger Moth Captain Ed Soye.
Ed has been with us for a few years now. He is a military flight instructor, and we are pleased to have him with us flying the Tiger Moth. Tiger Moth 8871 (ours) was a trainer plane in World War Two and it is very fitting that we have someone from the RCAF flying it.

Like many of the museum’s pilots, Ed first learned to fly as a teenager through Air Cadets. Over the next 18 years, he flew old airplanes on behalf of three flying museums and a variety of generous individuals. In 2018, He joined the regular RCAF in Moose Jaw. Ed is now an instructor for the RCAF.

Matt Cinnamon

Meet our Tiger Moth Captain Matt Cinnamon! We are privileged to have Matt with us in his third season on the Tiger Moth.

He earned his Glider and Power pilot licenses through the Air Cadet program, flew tow planes and gliders for the program and was a flight instructor in Saskatoon for over two years.

Having always wanted to fly vintage aircraft its Matt’s passion that helps make our Tiger Moth flights fantastic for passengers!
